Honaunau (Two-Step)

This mangrove area is the only one in Kailua Bay, which alone makes it very special. The water here is crystal clear and gets deeper quickly from the outside edges to at least 35 feet deep. Numerous shipwrecks, sunken ships, and other exciting scuba point to explore.

The channel is a great place to snorkel because it gets deep very quickly. The old Hawaiian fishing walls are on the ocean side, and beautiful coral reefs surround them. There is even a baby shark in that area, which is always fun to check out.

This walkway goes all the way down to Ma’iki Point, where you can see a historic lighthouse. This walkway also leads to the Waikomo Stream, which is great for paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking.
